SGS Pegasus School is a school for pupils aged 4 - 19 which offers a personalised, supportive and ambitious curriculum focused on the individual needs of its pupils. All our pupils have autism identified as their primary special educational need. All have an Education, Health and Care Plan. The school opened in September 2017.

SGS Pegasus School vision is to provide a truly outstanding, inclusive environment, for learners aged 4 to 19 with autism, where pupil and staff teamwork strives for and achieves the highest levels of academic and personal success. This underpinning approach of inclusivity and teamwork permeates all aspects of SGS Pegasus School. We will equip pupils with skills and strategies to enable them to make appropriate life choices, achieve their aspirational goals and make a positive contribution to society. SGS Pegasus School will be a positive choice for families with high ambitions for their children & young adults.

SGS Pegasus School offers a pupil centred, personalised curriculum and teaching approach that fully develops successful learners individual strengths, skills and interests. Our curriculum and approach challenges, is ambitious, extends and inspires our learners. Pupils are encouraged to be curious, inquiring, active and tenacious learners. We promote core learning and life values of independence and interdependence.

The SGS Pegasus Free School is part of South Gloucestershire and Stroud Academy Trust (SGSAT).

This is a really exciting opportunity to be part of our school . The role of a Governor is interesting and varied and we are looking for dedicated people that can bring a variety of skills and experience to the role and have the qualities to support the School in its strategic aim to successfully open and also to support it to become an outstanding institution.

School Governors are people from the communities the School serves who wish to make a positive contribution to the development of education in the region for learners aged 4 – 19 in the area. Of particular interest is experience in education, special educational needs and finance. The broader your experiences the better.

Governors are volunteers; their role is comparable with that of non-executive directors of the board of a public company. The position of Governor is unpaid, although they are entitled to claim for expenses incurred. Governors have an important part to play in setting the strategic direction of the School , ensuring accountability for the use of public funds and monitoring and evaluating the Schools performance. Applicants will need to confirm their willingness to commit the necessary time and effort needed to fulfil the role. SGSAT welcome all applications and is keen to involve people of all ages and cultural backgrounds and strongly encourages applications from under-represented groups and from all sections of the communities served.
