This term, Blue Class are learning about the different materials which make up the world we live in. There will be many Science investigations to develop the children's understanding of materials and we will be reading some inspiring books such as 'George's Marvellous Medicine' by Roald Dahl and 'Iron Man' by Ted Hughes to inspire our writing. Our Maths learning will be around understanding number, capacity and shape with lots of opportunities for hands on learning.
What a brilliant first term in Blue Class! We have made our own lumpacious liquids, created 3d Iron Man models, discovered about dissolving and done lots of amazing Maths work on measuring, place value and the four operations. We have also done a lot of thinking about what we like and don't like and how to treat other people and possessions with respect.
The class have had an amazing start to their time at Pegasus and we're very proud of them all.
Next term we will be continuing with our 'What's it made of?' topic to discover more about the properties of materials and different ways they change.

In Term 3, Blue Class will be investigating why and where castles were built. We will discover what the Norman conquest was and learn about how lives changed because of it. We will be doing lots of Design and Technology to build replicas and we hope to do our first school trip to Berkley Castle.
In English we will write recounts, explanation texts and instructions and in Maths we will be focussing on decimals, percentages and fractions, as well as the four operations.
