PHSE and Citzenship
SGS Pegasus School’s PHSE and Citizenship curriculum offers a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils. The curriculum broadening horizons for each and every pupil and includes developing the core skills of tolerance, respect, teamwork, resilience and building self-esteem.
SGS Pegasus School’s PHSE and Citizenship curriculum follows the South Gloucestershire’s Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (2016 – 2012) and the DfE “Improving the spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development of pupils”.
We promote the following British values and qualities at SGS Pegasus School:-
- the rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect
- tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
These values and qualities are promoted via our thematic approach to teaching, whole class PHSE lessons, assemblies and through special topic days such as ‘British Values Day’ and ‘Equality and Diversity Day’.
